Steven is a founding partner of Seah Ong & Partners LLP. Prior to establishing the firm in 1990, he was a partner in a Conveyancing and Litigation firm.
Steven was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Singapore Bar in 1981. He graduated from the University of Singapore in 1980. He later obtained a Diploma in Business Law from the National University of Singapore in 1988 and a Certificate in General Principles of Deputyship, Property & Affairs and Personal Welfare from the Singapore University of Social Sciences in 2019.
Steven is a seasoned litigator, having led the Conveyancing, Corporate and Community Law Departments since the firm’s inception in 1990. He has vast experiences in property transactions, as well as acting in matrimonial separations and estate matters. Steven also advices on corporate matters, litigation matters and is an experienced mediator for disputes.
Steven is a firm believer in Mediation, having attended workshops at the Singapore Mediation Centre (“SMC”) and serving as a Principal Mediator on the Panel of Principal Mediators with the SMC. As a Principal Mediator, he has assisted in many disputes involving construction, renovation, employment and contracts. He is also the Senior Mediator with the Law Society Mediation Scheme.
Enthusiastic about serving his community, Steven also volunteers with the Law Society’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme and serves as a Volunteer Tribunal Magistrate at the Small Claims Tribunals. He is on the panel of solicitors for the Legal Aid Bureau, the Primary Justice Lawyers with the Community Justice Centre and the Collaborative Family Practice Lawyers.
Steven is also a Facilitator with the Singapore Institute of Legal Education and facilitates the Professional Ethics Module.
In his free time, Steven enjoys reading and brisk walks.
